Title: Purchasing Coordinator

Location: De Pere, WI
1st shift

Value Added Companies is an aggressive growth company, in the mobile industrial hydraulics market. We supply OEM customers across the United States with hydraulic hoses, assemblies, fittings, connectors, and components. We accomplish this by creating value and value added services to our customer’s base. As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for sourcing raw materials for our assembly, manufacturing, goods, and services.

This position will require the necessary qualities to manage and develop vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spending, searching for improved deals and obtaining additional profitable suppliers. This position will also be responsible for generating savings back to the company through vendor leverage, inventory reduction, and increase product turns.

 • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
 • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
 • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
 • Partner with management and ownership to ensure clear requirement documentation
 • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
 • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
 • Assess, manage and mitigate risks
 • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
 • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
 • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand

 • Ability to successfully meet goals through personal initiative and proactive approach
 • Self-starter with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
 • Ability to manage multiple complex priorities and work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
 • Proven working experience in purchasing
 • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
 • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
 • A knack for negotiation and networking
 • Working experience of vendor management software
 • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
 • Solid judgment, along with decision making skills
 • Strong leadership capabilities
 • Bachelors Degree preferred in supply chain management, logistics, and or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Title: Shipping and Receiving/ Vendor Managed Inventory

Location: Rockford, IL
1st shift

This position is responsible for verifying shipment records, accepting shipments and distributing materials and parts coming into the company as well as putting away, pulling and preparing outgoing orders for shipment. In addition, obtaining and reviewing driver itinerary, checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries, counting items and checking customer invoices of products that have been loaded. Listed are attributes that include but are not limited to;
 • Unloading freight carriers and signing bills of lading
 • Delivering product to the proper inventory location, department or personnel
 • Safely drive and efficiently deliver and pickup products to specific accounts while ensuring good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a professional manner
 • Maintain customer inventory levels
 • Participate in weekly conference call with other VMI associates and VMI Manager
 • Meet with branch manager weekly to address any changes in stock levels at the customer location
 • Coordinating large deliver freight and large outgoing freight shipments to the correct delivery or shipping destinations
 • Assembling orders and preparing goods for shipment, recording shipment data, including weight charges

Required Skills:
 • Requires acceptable math skills and competency with Microsoft Office
 • Must be able to read and understand warehouse paperwork

Necessary Skills:
 • Good decision making ability, be highly organized with a sense of urgency, and possess good communication skills
 • Highly effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
 • Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently in a fast-paced environment

Work Requirements:
 • Requires ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs regularly lifting up to 50 lbs and frequently lifting up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
 • Work environment requires identified PPE at all times.

 • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
 • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
 • Previous experience driving a forklift preferred
 • Comfortable and willing to drive in all types of weather
